Job summary
Bay Medical Group are recruiting for a part time administrator to work as part of the Medicine Management Team at Heysham Primary Care Centre.
This position is for 34 hours per week, working 8 until 5pm Monday to Thursday.
Interviews will be on the 29th October 2025.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Medicines Management Team to enable the Practice to offer quality patient care.
To issue prescriptions as requested and maintain information in patient computer records.
To work in line with the MMT Protocol / Flow chart.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist the smooth running of the practice.

Management
of prescribing records
- Ensure that all requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned, where possible, within two working days.
- Check that all repeat items requested are due to be issued.
- Any items not on repeat prescription that are requested by a patient need to be managed in line with MMT Protocol / Flow Chart.
- Add items as requested for Dressings/ Nutrition and Ostomy purposes.
- Synchronisation of items on repeat prescription.
- Amend quantity of medication if appropriate.
- Liaising with Local Pharmacies.
- Manage incoming MMT phonelines (Patient/Pharmacy/Internal).
- Action EMIS Access and Pharmacy emails.
- Supporting BMG colleagues with queries where appropriate.
- Use Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to Issue holiday prescriptions.
- Check Gap in Issue / Medicine Compliance following (SOPs)
- Manage Drugs Cabinet for Emergency Trolley/Site use.
- Communicate effectively with our patients via digital and non-digital platforms.
