A Unique Opportunity to Join a Forward-Thinking Practice at the Heart of Ashton PCN
We are seeking a newly qualified or early-career GP to join Ashton Medical Group, working 4-6 sessions per week as part of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) within Ashton Primary Care Network.
This role is based exclusively at Ashton Medical Group a progressive, research-active practice with a diverse patient population, a strong multi-disciplinary team, and a well-established same-day access model.
Youll be supported by an experienced team and empowered to develop as a confident, independent GP, contributing to both same-day care and wider PCN initiatives.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities

Provide same-day care including face-to-face and telephone consultations, clinical triage, and home visits where needed.

Assess, diagnose, and manage undifferentiated presentations and chronic conditions.

Contribute to high-quality documentation, prescribing, referrals, and QOF achievement.

Collaborate with PCN colleagues, including ARRS roles, to deliver integrated care.

Participate in audit, service improvement, and PCN-level development projects.

You will be based exclusively at Ashton Medical Group, working with a supportive multidisciplinary team that includes advanced nurse practitioners, first contact specialists, and in-house mental health, paediatric, and MSK expertise. The post offers tailored mentorship, regular clinical supervision, and opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement work.
Main Duties of the Job

Manage same-day and urgent care presentations through face-to-face and telephone consultations.

Undertake clinical triage and safely manage undifferentiated presentations.

Provide high-quality, evidence-based care and maintain clear, contemporaneous clinical records.

Prescribe medication in line with national and local formulary guidance.

Participate in the review and management of long-term conditions in line with QOF and practice protocols.

Refer patients to internal PCN roles or secondary care as clinically appropriate.

Contribute to the review and processing of test results, reports, documents, and correspondence.

Undertake home visits as required (on a fair-share basis).

Engage in clinical meetings, protected learning sessions, and practice QI projects.

Support and contribute to PCN-wide initiatives and integrated care developments.
