Job summary
The Care Navigator will be a developing role at London Road Surgery providing comprehensive administrative support for the general practice team and acting as a focal point for patients and staff.
Main duties of the job
The primary role will be to support the administrative processes at the practice including Medical PA's, Clinical Coders, Document Processing and Medical Secretaries.
These primary roles will be developed over time based on training, experience and the integration of the Care Navigation role within the practice. These will develop by learning other roles within the administrative team which include Prescriptions, Admin Assistant.
The secondary role will be to support the recall process and supporting the administrative process with QOF.

Our dedicated team include of 9 GP partners, Salaried doctors, GP Registrars, ANP, Practice Nurses, HCA, GPAs, Pharmacist, Pharmacy technicians, Trainee pharmacy technicians, Prescription team, Administration and Reception teams.
We are based over 2 sites and have a patient list size of over 22,000.

The Care Navigator is to undertake the following key responsibilities in supporting capacity within the administrative team at the surgery these will include:
Medical PA ( generating sick notes, medical reports, typing letters and support to the duty doctor)
Clinical Coders (read coding letters and summarising records)
Medical Secretary ( Referrals, advice and guidance, RIPs)
Document processor (processing documents onto our clinical system)
Developing to learn in these areas:
Admin Assistant ( SARs, Immunisation recalls)
Prescribing clerk ( repeat prescriptions, prescription queries)
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the care navigator may be requested to work in supporting the recall system which will include:
Running monthly reports associated with our recall process
Calling patients in for the annual health checks
Administrative support with QOF
