We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our patient services team. We are looking for someone with a passion for primary care and the drive to support our clinical service.
Please note: This is a fixed term contract of 10 Months. For a part time role of 15.5 hours per week
Main duties of the job
What you will do
You will be assisting and directing patients toward the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Duties include:
- Process appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person and submit online Anima requests on behalf of patients, when required.
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
- Office admin duties.
- Assist the Triage Doctor in assessing online consultations Animas received by the Practice and allocate / book appointments accordingly.
- Ensure building security.
Essential Criteria
We are looking for somebody with:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and great telephone skills.
- The ability to use their own initiative.
- The ability to work as part of an integrated and multi-skilled team.
- Ability to manage the general public in a caring and courteous manner.
- Call centre experience or equivalent

About the Practice
Here at the Hereward Practice, we aim to provide the best care and service to our patients in a busy department. We are a small, friendly reception team who work hard to ensure patients needs are met adequately.
We look after 12,000 patients at the practice, so this is a very fast paced working environment which makes it an exciting and rewarding place to work.
