Job summary

We are a supportive, forward thinking team of nurses in a dynamic GP practice in the centre of town, and we are looking for an experienced Treatment Room Nurse (RGN) to come and join us.

To provide cover Monday, Thursday, Friday, working 20-30 hours a week, with competitive rates of pay starting from £16 per hour depending on your experience and competencies, access to the NHS Pension Scheme and your NMC registration fee will be paid.

We are supported by friendly Doctors, as well as currently having a team of four Advanced Nurse Practitioners, five Chronic Disease Nurses, six Treatment Room Nurses, eight Health Care Assistants and our various Admin teams, so you can enjoy your role.

We are not afraid of change, and would love to hear your ideas. Our team of nurses is continually changing due to our training and staff development and we run educational sessions twice a month.

The successful applicant will work across both of our practice sites based in Shelley Road and Heene Road, Worthing.

Main duties of the job

Provide care for the presenting patient needing a treatment room procedure.

The post holder will assess, plan, provide and evaluate the nursing care to meet the needs of the individual. Assess and treat specific conditions in accordance with protocol; provide screening and surveillance, and therapeutic interventions for the practice population.

They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice.

To demonstrate excellent communication & documentation skills

To be responsible for their own e -learning training and updates.

To uphold the ethos of WMG so to be safe, effective, caring, responsive to peoples needs and promote good leadership.

To be aware and support WMG in the wider scope of clinical bodies like the CQC.

Provide Treatment Room services. To include, but not limited to: wound care, including compression therapy and leg ulcer management, ear care, cervical cytology, swabs, Doppler assessments, ring changes, blood tests, injections, assistance if required for minor ops.

Vaccinations and Immunisations. Administer injections to adults and children; ensure safe storage and disposal of vaccines. Give travel immunisation and advice. All childhood vaccinations. HPV and other teenage immunisations.

Infection Control. Ensure that the highest infection control standards are met.

Emergency Management. Be competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques

Child Health. Recognise the signs and symptoms of child abuse and be aware of local and statutory procedures.
