Job summary

An excellent opportunity to join our friendly, innovative, and expanding GMS practice in a beautiful semi-rural location between York and Leeds.

We are seeking a dedicated GP who is newly qualified within the last two yearsto enhance our supportive team.

Main duties of the job

Our clinical roles include, capped appointment numbers, 15-minute F2F appointments, low home visit rates, access to paramedics visiting,first contact physio & mental health practitioner.

We support our team with a daily clinical meet and have low clinical staff turnover.

We are also part of a well-supported PCN(Tadcaster and Rural Selby PCN).

We have always been high QOF Achievers, participate in enhanced services, dispense to nearly half our population and have an onsite Pharmacy.

We also have branch sites in Micklefield and Thorpe Willoughby.

About us

We care for a pleasant and varied patient population of 10,800, with a low home visit rate supported by an associated paramedic visiting service, first contact physiotherapy, and a mental health practitioner. Our GPs and ANPs benefit from capped appointment numbers and 15-minute face-to-face consultations, ensuring a focus on high-quality patient care.

We prioritise team wellbeing with daily clinical huddles, and we have a low clinical staff turnover. We are consistently high QOF achievers, provide enhanced services, dispense to nearly half our population, and have an on-site pharmacy. We also operate branch sites at Micklefield and Thorpe Willoughby.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effective management of long-term conditions

Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

Prepare and complete the revalidation process

Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
