Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic fast learners who have experience of working in an NHS environment. We offer a warm and lively working environment with a strong team spirit and the opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to our health and wellbeing programme for patients and staff.

We will interview candidates as applications come in. We are looking for two individuals; one full time and one-part time. Hours to be decided.

Main duties of the job

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing a high volume of phone calls from patients and health care professionals
  • Greeting, checking in and booking appointments for patients at the front desk
  • Dealing with repeat prescription requests
  • Responding efficiently and with respect and empathy to patient enquiries both in person and by telephone
  • Advise patients of relevant charges for non-NHS services, accept payment and issue receipts
  • Remaining patient and calm in often stressful situations
  • Scanning, filing and photocopying documents
  • Clerical support to GPs and the wider healthcare team (completing and processing referrals/documents)
  • Understand and disseminate NHS wider policies to patients when requested
  • Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the management team
  • Support the practice team with patient wellbeing events patients coffee mornings/drinks
