Job summary

Bolton Community Practice is a community interest company providing primary care to 16,000 patients across the Bolton borough. We have an enthusiastic and passionate team of 13 GPs, working together with a wider clinical team of highly skilled professionals and a highly effective and hardworking senior management team overseeing the running of the practice and its financial management.

We operate as a not for profit organisation, rather than a traditional GP partnership. Any profits or assets are principally reinvested for the benefit of the community. Strategic decisions are made by our Board of Directors. The composition of the directors includes a mix of Executive Directors, elected Staff Directors, a Non-Executive Director who is chair of our Lay Advisory Group and up to three other Non-Executive Directors.

The practice has recently undertaken a transition of leadership following the recruitment of an exceptionally talented new Clinical Lead GP. We are continuing to expand our workforce with GPs with valuable wider skills.

We are now looking for an exceptional candidate to Chair our Board and to help ensure that our organisation is achieving its vision and strategic objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise professional and personal expertise and positively contribute to the local community.
