Job summary
The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of the practice, enhancing and developing nursing services within the practice.
The Practice Nurse will be responsible for their own personal development and education including in-service training. They will recognise and work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse will be committed to improve standards of care and be involved in identifying practice population needs.
The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to undertake any further training required to ensure appropriate role development.
Skills required but not limited to:-
Family Planning, Sexual Health, Cervical Screening, Chronic Disease Management, Immunisations including childhood imms.
About us
Bridge End Surgery is a practice within Chester le Street town centre. We are part of Chester le Street Primary Care Network. We serve a population of approx. 7800 patients.
We have 3 GP partners, currently 3 salaried GP's but soon to be 5, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and 1 Nurse Associate within the clinical team.
Bridge End Surgery like to look on ourselves as a good team providing high quality care to our patients and are all highly motivated towards achieving that aim.
Every member of the team is valued for their contribution and skills and we try and enhance their role and purpose within the practice as much as possible.
Regular meetings are held on a wide variety of topics involving the whole team and full participation from members is encouraged.

- At least 2 years recent primary care nursing experience
- Management of long-term conditions
- Involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines
