Elbury Moor Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a new team member to join our friendly, dedicated and hard working team.
We are looking for a reliable and flexible person who has a caring approach and is motivated to provide excellent customer service and communication skills to our patients.
The hours of work are Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 12.30pm - 6.30pm
Main duties of the job
The applicant should be well organised, have an excellent telephone manner and the ability to cope under pressure.
The role will include receiving, assisting and directing patient enquiries in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective manner. You will act as a first point of contact for the practice to provide a high quality, professional reception service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues and health service professionals.

Elbury Moor Medical Centre is a warm, friendly and forward-thinking practice which is situated with good access to the M5.
We have a patient list size of 11,500 patients and our team includes 6 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, Clinical Pharmacist, 1 Advanced Clinical Practitioner, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a Nursing Team. We are supported by Management, Administration and Reception Teams.
We are part of the Worcester City Primary Care Network and have strong links with associated teams within this organisation.

Job responsibilities
- Receiving patients
- Consulting with members of the practice clinical teams
- Navigation of patients to correct services and triage appointments
- Be able to cover for annual leave/sickness when required
- Process appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person
- Deal with visit requests
- Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area).
- Adhere to practice policies
- Any other tasks allocated by managers

- In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately
- In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
- Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
