We are a busy doctor's surgery in Ewell looking to recruit a part-time enthusiastic, hard-working and self-motivated prescription/admin clerk to join our team, working out of a modern purpose build premises. We are committed to delivering high-quality, efficient care to our large list of just under 9000 patients.
Main duties of the job
The Prescription Clerk is responsible for managing the repeat prescription process, ensuring that all requests are processed accurately and efficiently. The role involves liaising with patients, GPs, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and timely provision of medications.
We are currently in need of a Prescription Clerk Monday & Wednesday, working from 8am - 2pm, with a view of increasing the hours per week and the scope of work in time.
You will be working as part of a team and you are therefore required to cover shifts Monday to Friday when staff are on leave or sickness.

Key Responsibilities:
- Processing Repeat Prescriptions:Accurately process repeat prescription requests from patients, ensuring all necessary checks and authorisations are completed.
- Liaising with Healthcare Professionals:Work closely with GPs, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure prescriptions are accurate and up-to-date. We have our in-house Clinical Pharmacist that is also here to support.
- Patient Communication:Communicate effectively with patients regarding their prescription requests, providing information and assistance as needed. Dealing with prescription queries via telephone, electronically and face to face.
- Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prescription requests and actions taken.
- Medication Queries:Handle medication-related queries from patients and healthcare professionals, escalating complex issues to the appropriate team member.
- Compliance:Ensure all prescription processes comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
