Job summary
We are a busy doctor's surgery in Ewell, Epsom looking to recruit a part-time enthusiastic, hard-working and self-motivated medical receptionist to join our team, working out of a modern purpose build premises. We are committed to delivering high-quality, efficient care to our large list of 9000 patients.
Main duties of the job
Ideal candidates would have previous experience of working in a healthcare setting and using Emis, and some reception experience, but this is not essential as full training will be provided. Applicants should be self motivated and friendly, with a desire to provide excellent customer service. Applicants also need to have good computer skills and have the ability to work under pressure.
Shifts required are:
Wednesday 8am - 6pm
Friday 8am - 6pm
You will be working as part of a team and you are therefore required to cover shifts Monday to Friday when staff are on leave or sickness.

Reception duties are varied and can include, but are not limited to:
- Opening up/locking up of Practice premises security in accordance with practice protocols.
- Booking, amending and cancelling appointments for patients.
- Processing appointment requests through the practice website and over the telephone.
- Processing documents/tasks that are sent to the practice from other services and patients.
- Answering patient queries and signposting patients to the most appropriate service.
- Communicating effectively within both the reception team and the wider surgery team.
