Job summary
To support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The HCA/NA will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.

About us
We are a large, dynamic, friendly practice consisting of 4 Partners, 14 Salaried GPs, 6 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Nurse Manager,2 Practice Nurses, , 2 HCAs, 2 Phlebotomists & 2 Social Prescribers. We also have a Health & Wellbeing team that offer physiotherapy.
We serve 26,000 patients with a focus on clinical excellence and engagement with the modern NHS. We have a very strong team ethos and are looking for committed and enthusiastic Practice Nurse who can bring their own valuable knowledge and skills to our Practice.
We are a teaching Practice with a regular allocation of trainees, we also demonstrate strong performance in QOF, CQC and we play a lead role within our PCN.

The following are the core responsibilities of the healthcare assistant. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- Undertake venepuncture

- Processing and management of specimens for onward transportation
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
- Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
- Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
- Cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Ordering of medical consumables to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
- Carry out long term condition assessments such foot checks and FEV1 monitoring (COPD6)
- Undertake H. pylori breath testing as requested by GP or Clinical Pharmacist
