Job summary

The Pendle Medical Partnership in East Lancashire is looking to recruit a GP colleague working 5-6 Sessions a week, to join our amazing & friendly team. We are currently 10 GPs caring for 15,000 patients over two sites and we employ over 50+ staff. As a growing practice we are constantly looking for great clinicians. A minimum of 5 Sessions are required from candidates.

As part of succession planning across our team later in the year this opportunity will ensure we meet our growing patient demand.

We very much welcome interest in the post from newly qualified GPs who require transitional support, or more established GPs looking for a change and a fresh challenge. All our team have special qualities and values - we recognise individual contributions and understand and support each other; by nurturing the team, great quality health care follows. We have introduced a simple, clear and effective GP Progression framework to ensure good pay and career progression - which is highly valued by our current salaried GPs.

We offer a fleet car scheme, 7 weeks holiday plus BH, great career progression and leadership opportunities towards your development. Your success is our success. Have a chat with us if this sounds like the sort of Practice you would like to work with. You wont be disappointed.

Candidates must be able to cover Mondays and Wednesdays as a MINIMUM Commitment as part of their 5-6 sessions offered.

* Note we may close the listing early if sufficient candidates meet criteria.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be an integral member of the clinical team and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients. You may choose to develop an interest in a particular area and we will support you with this, though the fundamental requirement is for a team-based clinician who cares about others. You will be part of a "sub-team", enabling more focus on particular geographical populations and promoting continuity of care in areas such as palliative care, frailty and safeguarding. Clinical Responsibilities will include a variety of duties including face to face and telephone consultations and visiting patients at home. We encourage an emphasis on remote and digital consulting as General Practice moves into new ways of working. The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including a share of the duty doctor rota and support of junior doctors and allied health professionals. We deliver excellent patient care and can only do this with an excellent team of staff.

Candidates must be able to cover Mondays and Wednesdays as a MINIMUM Commitment as part of their 5-6 sessions offered. Please do not apply if you cannot meet this requirement.

About us

Team working is central to the culture of our practice and we support each other throughout the day. We are a large modern training practice, working from two sites in a beautiful part of the Lancashire country. We are members of a Pendle East PCN, comprising 5 GP practices and a rapidly expanding range of additional roles and enhanced services.

We have twice been awarded RCGP Quality Practice Award and we maintain the highest standards in everything that we do. Our team comprises 5 partners and 5 associate GPs working between 4-7 sessions each. The clinical team is actively engaged in all aspects of clinical, teaching and research developments. We explore dynamic progression from Associate to Partner on an individual basis and this role has real potential towards partnership for the right candidate.

The wellbeing of our team is critically important. Holidays, rest time and time for professional development are encouraged. Coffee catch-ups, time for lunch together, tea (and cake) all encouraged but not compulsory! We have a strong ethos of collaboration and support which ensures a positive culture and set of values.
