Job summary
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
This self-motivated person must have the ability to organise and prioritise workloads on a day to day basis and observe strict rules of confidentiality at all times.
The workflow administrator will be using the clinical system EMIS and Docman for processing correspondence and signposting to the correct team member or department.
Working within a whole team and closely with other departments to ensure good communications and learn from each other to deliver high standards of patient care.
Must show a willingness to learn, demonstrate initiative and take on new tasks where appropriate. Candidate must be motivated, well organised and enthusiastic.
Previous Docman and EMIS experience would be a distinct advantage.
Confidence using IT and learning new skills.
Some knowledge of medical terminology would be beneficial.
Able to prioritise and manage own workload.
Must be flexible, to be able to cover holiday and sickness, as necessary.
Main duties of the job
- Read, assign and signpost incoming electronic correspondence on a day to day basis ensuring letters are appropriately processed to the patient notes, and forwarded to the correct department for action i.e. to other Docman team members, pharmacy for medication changes etc.
- Relevant and correct data is added to the patients electronic record. E.g. coding / warnings as per protocol.
- Other administrative duties are undertaken as listed below and at the request of Management Team.
- Processing and downloading heart and BP monitors, including liaising with monitor supplier and reception regarding bookings.
- Booking minor surgery clinics and liaising with the external referral team and patients. Processing histology reports from these clinics.
- Assist with QOF Admin and data input where required.
- Any other admin duties as the need arises.
Hours: 30 a week over 5 days.

We are part of Ashford Rural PCN which works closely together to deliver a number of services to our collective groups of patients. We are a training practice and personal development is central to everything we do.
