Main duties of the job
We are looking for a fixed-term Salaried GP to compliment our well established team to support us in our delivery of primary health care to our patient population.
We provide a mixture of routine appointment types to our patients which includes but is not limited to telephone appointments, home visits, online consultations and face to face consultations. We also offer enhanced access appointments to our patients during some evenings and weekends throughout the year. We are also working towards a total triage system to improve access for our patient population.
We offer joint diabetes clinics, minor surgery clinics, joint injections and coil and implant clinics. We are keen to support our clinicians with any special interests they may have.
This role is suitable for newly qualified and experienced GPs alike, with GP support available including named GP Partner Mentor if required.
We have an excellent working relationship with Newark Primary Care Network and an active and supportive Patient Participation Group.
About us
The Practice is a town dispensing practice providing primary medical care to a patient population of around 12300 patients. We are a progressive practice providing an extended range of high-quality services, working from our purpose-built modern surgery in the heart of Southwell; a historic market town in semi-rural Nottinghamshire, within easy reach of Nottingham, Newark, Mansfield and Lincoln.
We have an extremely cohesive, welcoming and diverse team which currently includes 4 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 4 ACP/ANPs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, a large nursing team as well as our administrative, secretarial, dispensing and reception teams. We are also a training practice. Within this team, one of our GPs is currently in position as PCN Clinical Director and another is on the LMC Committee locally.
In addition to our permanent staff, we are lucky to have additional roles attached under the PCN which includes Social Prescribers, Nursing Associates and First Contact Physiotherapists as well as a team to help with our nursing home ward rounds.
