Job summary
Southwell Medical Centre are looking to recruit a part-time workflow administrator/coder to join our busy, friendly administrative team.
You will be joining an experienced friendly team , who are dedicated to ensuring our patients have the best possible experience when visiting the surgery.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for dealing with a wide range of clinical data and administrative duties, including reviewing, summarising and coding patient information from medical correspondence and clinical documents. You must have experience of working with SystmOne, be detail orientated, have a good knowledge of medical terminology and strong organisations skills.
We are seeking someone who has good teamwork, a patient focussed outlook and high attention to detail.
About us
Southwell Medical Centre is a well established training Practice and we currently look after a patient population of around 12300 patients.
We have a friendly, diverse team that consists of 4 GP partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 4 ACP, 4 Nurses, 1 HCA's, 2 Nurse Associates, 2 Phlebotomy staff, 4 dispensing staff, 2 clinical pharmacists, 1 FCP, 3 GP Trainees currently, 8 reception staff and a team of 5 currently within our administration/secretarial team. We are also supported by other PCN roles.

The following form the main responsibilities of the workflow/administrator/coder. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Review all incoming correspondence filing the document and entering pertinent information into the patients electronic medical recording in accordance with the Coding Protocol and with attention to QOF
b. Accurately clinical-coding data on System One into the patient record
c. Organise the medical record of patient whom you are coding, to link problem titles
d. Input and extract data as required to support practice reports
e. Organise the medical records of a patient whom you are coding for to link problem titles.
f. File and store records as required
g. Photocopy documentation as required
h. Action all incoming faxes, emails and mail in a timely manner
i. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
j. Summarising patient records
k. Processing outgoing documents and GP links on SystmOne
l. Supporting colleagues in the secretarial team during times of low staffing.
