About the Role

This pivotal role is essential in advancing the quality of patient care and promoting clinical excellence across our network of practices. The Group Nurse Manager will provide strategic leadership and professional oversight to our nursing team, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered nursing care across all sites.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to the nursing and healthcare assistant (HCA) teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with clinical governance frameworks, infection prevention protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work in close collaboration with site leads to coordinate clinical governance and infection control measures.
  • Develop and maintain robust documentation of training records, competencies, and professional development for nursing staff and HCAs.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the nursing and healthcare assistant teams, including managing annual and study leave, rota planning, and ensuring clinic cover across sites.

  • Take responsibility for clinical leadership, including 1:1s, appraisals, training, and mentorship within the nursing team.

  • Serve as the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Lead, overseeing compliance, audits, training, and the annual IPC statement.

  • Develop and embed care management programmes for frail and housebound patients.

  • Deliver and oversee chronic disease management, routine nursing care, health promotion initiatives, vaccination programmes, and acute care interventions within scope of practice.

  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with clinical guidelines, PGDs, and scope of practice.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider practice team, partners, patients, carers, and external agencies to ensure seamless patient care and safety.

  • Take a key role in safeguarding, mental health triage, and clinical governance, participating in audits, RCA reviews, and policy implementation.

  • Lead on Nurse recruitment, retention, and CQC compliance matters relevant to the nursing team.
