Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate, hard-working individual to join our team as a Senior Administrator. We are a busy, dynamic surgery with over 20,000 patients, local to Hyde and the surrounding areas.

As a Senior Administrator, you'll take primary responsibility for managing the reception area, ensuring it runs smoothly, efficiently and with a calm, welcoming atmosphere.

You'll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling a wide range of administrative tasks and complex requests with professionalism and empathy, and play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care.

Working alongside senior members of the non-clinical team, you will work together to ensure a positive patient experience.

  • Reception duties - oversee the day-to-day running of a busy reception desk, ensuring high standards of service and organisation
  • Patient interaction - welcome patients, manage appointments and handle enquiries with warmth and efficiency
  • Document management - scanning, uploading and maintaining accurate patient records
  • Data input and system navigation - using different IT systems to manage patient information and support clinical teams
  • Triage support - identifying patient needs and directing them to appropriate internal and external services
  • Complex request handling - managing sensitive or challenging situations with discretion and care

  • Skilled in managing difficult conversations with tact and professionalism.
  • Compassionate and empathetic, with a keen eye for recognising patients in need.
  • IT confident, able to navigate multiple systems with ease.
  • Responsible, kind and respectful.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and integrity.

Desirable

  • Previous GP surgery experience is preferred but not essential. We value the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
