Job summary

Marriott's Medical Practices have the opportunity for 1 enthusiastic and motivated salary GP to join our friendly and supportive clinical team working at our Taverham Surgery on a part time basis of 4 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

  • Become an integral part of our close-knit team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing top-notch care. Engage in team-building events that foster collaboration and a positive working atmosphere.
  • Conduct patient consultations, including diagnosis and treatment.
  • Manage chronic diseases and provide preventive care.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and emergency care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with best practices.
  • Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Participate in practice meetings and contribute to the development of practice policies.
  • Support and mentor junior staff and trainees.

We are a training practice and work closely with the UEA, teaching 1st, 2nd and 4th year Medical Students, as well as ST1 and ST3. We also support foundation year 2.

  • MRCGP
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit
  • Experience of medicines management
  • General understanding of the primary care contract
  • Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
  • Effective time management (planning and organising)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
