Job summary

Healthcare Assistant experience is essential (Care Certificate / Health & Social Care NVQ Level 3) with a willingness to train for a Phlebotomy role (if not already) in order to share tasks. Its a fantastic role at the heart of our healthcare provision and can expand as your ambition dictates. Patients love a good HCA and so do we!

Good computer skills are important and knowledge of EMIS Web, Docman and ICE would be an added advantage but not essential.

Essential

  • Experience of working in a primary care setting.
  • Experience of working unsupervised.
  • Experience in phlebotomy.
  • Literacy/Numeracy at Level 2 or above
  • Fully trained in phlebotomy (or willingness to undertake training as necessary)
  • Fully trained in urinanalysis, BP monitoring, new patient checks, ECG recording (or willingness to undertake training where necessary)
  • Fully trained in flu injections (or willingness to undertake training as necessary
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate clearly compassionately with patients and families
  • IT skills EMIS Web, Docman, ICE
  • Uses initiative
