Dispensary Business Manager

Job summary

We are a friendly team of two Dispensary Delivery Drivers, three Dispensers (with a fourth out to advert) and a Dispensary Supervisor. We have ~4,500 dispensing patients and dispense around 7,000 items per month.

We are looking for a part-time Dispensary Business Manager following the retirement of our Dispensary Manager.An experienced candidate who understands the business element of the running of a Dispensary and has knowledge of supplier discounts, PPA reporting, VAT, etc would be advantageous. Alternatively, a business/financially minded person who is keen to learn and has a good eye for detail would be welcome to apply. The Dispensary Business Manager will also need to be qualified to at least an NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills - for the right candidate, this could be offered as on the job training.

We have a Dispensary Supervisor in post and their role, as well as dispensing, is to provide leadership to the team on a day-to-day basis.

Main duties of the job

The Dispensary Business Manager will ensure that the Dispensary operates as a successful business, with profits maximised with patient and staff satisfaction optimised.

The Dispensary Business Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Dispensary Supervisor, ensuring that a safe, efficient, and patient-focused dispensing service is delivered.

We are a friendly team of seven Partners (six GP, one Practice Manager), nine Salaried GPs, two paramedics, two clinical pharmacists, one pharmacy technician, one prescription clerk, two first contact physiotherapists, a mental health nurse, a dietitian, an occupational therapist, two care coordinators and a full compliment of management support, patient services administrators, dispensers (including drivers) and administrators.

We are looking for someone with the right skillset and approach to join our established dispensary team.
