Job summary
You will be working as part of a team who are mostly the first point of
contact in the practice.
The post is advertised at 22.5 hours per week. You will be required
to work one or two late evenings per week this is to 19.00hrs and will be working with
another member of staff.
This is a fast-paced and busy role where multi-tasking and strong
organisational skills are essential. Personal resilience and the ability to
thrive under pressure are also essential qualities for success in this role.
You must be able to adhere to the Practice's strict confidentiality
policy.

Knowledge of SystmOne would be a distinct advantage, but not essential.

meetings, training and courses as appropriate.

Main duties of the job
- Book appointments over the telephone and face-to-face using Systm1 computerised system, ensuring the agreed practice procedures regarding appointment systems, booking times are adhered to and explained to patients accordingly.
- Ensure that patients are seen by the most appropriate person for their own individual needs eg: Practice Long Term Condition Nurse and Nursing Associate.
- Undertake practice administration including the processing of results, correspondence, notifications and tasks.
- Attaching of documents to patients records, adhering to deadlines.
- Accurate read coding of documents, adhering to QOF protocols.
- Ensure requests for prescriptions are actioned, where possible within 48 hours.
- To provide holiday cover for colleagues as required.
- Ensure communication to and from patients, other members of the primary care team and external agencies are processed accurately and within the necessary timescales.
- Filing and retrieving paperwork. Computer entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures including, coding, patient recall and scanning.
- Ensure Reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy.
- Open up the premises and make all the necessary preparation to receive patients at the start of the day.

We have approximately 7900 patients on our practice list and are CQC
rated 'Good'.
