Downing
Drive Surgery is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join their
workforce to work approx. 14 hours per week! We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, organised and
has a positive can-do attitude. Please see attached the Job Description

Develop
and manage a medicines management plan and deliver patient services as
determined by practice policy and local and national guidance.
Support
the medicines management team, in order to maximise cost-effective prescribing
and improve the quality of patient care.
Under
the direction of the Practices, we expect that you will be able to work
independently and manage your own workload. You will need excellent
communication skills to be able to liaise with patients, primary care staff,
community pharmacists and other partners.
Main duties of the job
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting safe, effective, and efficient medicines management within the practice. This includes completing medicines reconciliation from hospital discharges, outpatient correspondence, and new patient registrations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date medication records and appropriate long-term condition recalls. The role involves managing repeat prescriptions and medication queries in line with legal and practice requirements, triaging requests via internal systems including Accurx and SCA processes, and providing medicines information to patients within scope. The Pharmacy Technician supports medicines optimisation and prescribing safety, including lipid management, DOAC monitoring, requesting and reviewing blood results, and reducing prescribing errors. They may deliver vaccinations under approved PGDs, maintain accurate clinical records, and contribute to medicines audits, MHRA safety alerts, governance, and quality improvement initiatives. Effective communication and collaboration with GPs, nurses, community pharmacies, and wider healthcare providers is essential, alongside active participation in relevant practice and pharmacy meetings.

as our clinical system and allocate a named GP to every patient to ensure
