Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed GP for 4 - 6 sessions per week to join our practice team. We provide excellent care for the town of Market Rasen and the surrounding villages. The practice is about a 20 minute drive from Lincoln and is a great area to live and work with good value housing, living costs & excellent schools

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a patient focused GP, committed to providing the highest level of care, who is willing to take a proactive approach and contribute to the success of the practice. We will gladly consider newly qualified GPs, experienced GPs, Return to practice GPs and GP retainers. We can provide a supportive environment for those in their first post. We understand you may have outside responsibilities and can look at offering some flexibility of work.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high quality patient care
  • Carry out surgery, telephone consultations and undertake home visits
  • Liaise with other team members and organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queries
  • Investigate and refer patients as appropriate in line with current guidance
  • Deal promptly with results and correspondence
  • Excellent communication with patients and carers
  • Attend clinical, clinical governance and educational meetings
  • Strong team player
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Strong collaborative working relationships with partners and all team members
  • Effectively manage own time, workload and resources
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
  • Recording clear and contemponeous consultation notes to agreed standards

About us

Our clinical team consists of 3 GP partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 2 COPD/Asthma & Diabetes Specialist Nurses, 2 Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, 3 Musculoskeletal Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioner & 3 Healthcare Assistants. We also have an Older Adults team comprising of a Care co-ordinator, Occupational Therapist and Older Adults Specialist Nurse who look after our frail patients and care homes. The clinical team are all fully supported by an experienced reception, dispensary and administrative team.

We are an active part of the East Lindsey Primary Care Network.

The practice:

  • Has a list size of 10,800 patients and uses SystmOne.
  • Is a training practice for GP registrars, medical students, nurses and physician associates.
  • Accredited level 3 theatre with an orthopaedic consultant and general surgeon along with our own GP who carries out minor surgery.
  • High QOF achiever
  • Has a CQC rating of Good in all areas and has had consistently positive patient feedback from the national patient survey.
  • 5 of our GPs trained at the practice and have continued as either partners or salaried GPs.
  • Very competitive salary (dependent on experience) + MDU cover
