Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join
our friendly and supportive practice, following the relocation of a partner.
Main duties of the job
Clinical:
Consultations
- Routine and emergency: telephone, F2F, plus admin slots
- Pro-rata share of duty sessions
- Requirement to cover Enhanced Access

Home visits:Equitable share with other Doctors
- Equitable share of workload when a member of the
Clinical Team is away
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
- Prescribing within locally agreed guidelines

Dealing with queries, blood results, medical
reports and examinations, referral letters (NHS and private) and correspondence
from own consultations and for absent GPs in a timely manner, as per Continuity
of Care protocol
- Taking an equitable share of the queries and
workload from the wider MDT team
- Making professional autonomous decisions with either self-referred patients or those
referred by another member of the MDT team
- Recording and making contemporaneous I.T. based
consultation notes to agreed standards
- Management &
Administration
- Work alongside the clinical team to achieve QOF
targets, and deliver accepted enhanced services
- Participate in weekly education meetings
- Supervision and involvement in teaching and training:Medical Students,Doctors in training,Assist practice to maintain GP Training status

Qualifications
Essential
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Current registration with the GMC
- Appropriate representation with a recognised medical defence organisation
- Current DBS check
- Up to date CPR training
- Current and full driving licence
- Strong levels of I.T. proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the Practice uses EMIS Web)
- Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care case load
- Proven ability to offer support within a clinical team and share learning points in Practice meetings
- A good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and the operation of the Quality Outcomes Framework process
- MRCGP
- DCH/DFFP/DRCOG
- General Practice experience
- Familiarity with EMIS Web, Docman, AccuRX
