Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated manager.

Previous NHS or Practice management experience, leadership skills, a sound knowledge and demonstrable competency in all aspects of management, including; finance, IT and strategic planning are essential.

Applicants for this position should have management experience with a proven track record in the delivery of services to patients.

Ideally this experience will have been gained within Primary Care working as a Practice Manager, but exceptional candidates who can exhibit transferable skills would be considered if they demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Primary Care.

Main duties of the job

To summarise the role, we have listed some of the aspects involved in leading the team.

All claims including LIS, PPA etc
Handling financial systems
Responsibility for income, expenditure, and cash-flow forecasts
Development and implementation of processes to achieve clinical targets of QOF and enhanced services
Contributing to profit improvement by exploring areas for increasing income and reducing costs
Implement, maintain, and update a practice development plan, oversee the implementation of the aims and objectives

Job description

Job responsibilities

Main duties :

1. Ensure the practice is compliant with any NHS, Information governance, CQC, or health related requirements

2. Recommend improvements to how we could work more efficiently and review administration systems so there are established efficient ways of working.

3. Ensure staff are trained to provide cover for all the administrative functions and patient queries so we have a multi-skilled flexible team.

4. Communicate with all staff and keep them up to date.Motivating and managing staff on a day to day basis.

5. Responsible for communications with patients including complaints handling, website, online patient access

6. Support practice management with new projects and developments and practice administration.

7. Ensure the practice maximises patient healthcare so we achieve maximum QOF achievement.

8. Be responsible and develop processes to aid with recruitment and HR functions.

9. Review and maintain up to date policies and practice administration such as minutes, practice policies, Team Net, Hr requirements, etc.

10. Organise staff rotas and coordinate holiday requests to ensure there is adequate cover at all times.

11. Ensure the work environment is kept clean, tidy and well organised, paying due attention to health and safety.

12. Work closely with the Partners and Management team to provide support as and when required.
