Key Responsibilities

Clinical Delivery: Provide a full range of nursing clinics and services on-site at Alastair Ross Medical Practice, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

Cross-Practice Leadership: Visit the Tameside practices a minimum of twice per week to deliver hands-on leadership, mentorship, and support to the wider nursing teams.

Performance & Quality Oversight: Monitor, review, and enhance nursing performance across all sites, ensuring compliance with practice policies, CQC requirements, and national clinical guidelines. Support professional development and facilitate ongoing training.

We are seeking an experienced and confident Practice Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in general practice,be confident in using theEMISclinical system, and demonstrate a high standard of patient care and clinical competence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments, triage patients, and provide clinical advice.
- Administer childhood and travel vaccinations, wound care, cervical screening, B12 injections and other treatment procedures.
- Support chronic disease management programs (e.g., diabetes, asthma, cardiovascular health).
- Drawing bloods and provide patient education and health promotion activities (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management).
- Manage infection control and maintain clinical equipment.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records using electronic health systems.
- Work within regulatory and clinical governance frameworks, ensuring best practice standards.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to practice audits and reviews.
About us
Alastair Ross Medical Practice is a busy, well-established GP surgery based within Breightmet Health Centre, a modern and accessible facility at the heart of the Breightmet community. We currently provide care to approximately 7,000 patients.
Our multidisciplinary team includes four regular GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Practice Manager, an Assistant Manager, and a committed team of reception and administrative staff who work together to deliver high-quality patient care.
Although we operate as an independent practice, we work collaboratively with four sister surgeries located in Tameside. This partnership approach enables us to share expertise, strengthen services, and make the best possible use of our resources to ensure high-quality healthcare for all our patients.
