Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and initiative team at Bexley Group Practice. The post holder will work as an integral member of the general practice team, providing support to clinicians in delivering high quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
You will play a vital role in providing hands on care to our patients.
We are seeking a well-rounded HCA with experience in diabetic foot checks, wound care, patient health assessments and maintaining accurate patient records. You will also support general clinicial and administrative duties as required.

Bexley Group Practice is based at the main site on Upper Wickham Lane, Welling with a branch site at Station Road, Belvedere.
We have a current list size of 14,600 and are high QOF achievers.
Our team is passionate about delivering high quality care to our patients while maintaining a strong commitment to professionalism.
We have a dedicated clinical team including GPs, Practice Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist, Physician Associate, Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Phlebotomist along with allied health professionals under our PCN which includes a Mental Health Practitioner, First Scope Physiotherapist and Phlebotomist. We also have a strong administrative team who supports the day to day running of the surgery.

- Provide routine clinical care to patients in line with the practice policies and protocols
- Deliver wound care to patients
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of patients health and well-being
- Undertake specific clinical activities for patients
- Help raise awareness of health and well-being and promote healthy lifestyles
- Undertake NHS Health checks
- Undertake diabetic foot checks
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with relevant legislation
- Ensure effective use of read codes
- Chaperone patients when necessary
- Assist GPs with minor surgery as required
- Aid the team in handling clinical emergencies
- Recognise and refer patients presenting with mental health needs
- Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
