We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. Main duties of the job
Duties
- Conduct patient assessments and record medical histories accurately.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care management.
- Provide health education and advice to patients regarding their conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the medical team promptly.
- Participate in health promotion activities within the community.
Requirements
- Qualified nurse with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support effective patient care.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a primary care environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Diploma in asthma and diabetes are preferable

High Field Surgery is a friendly forward-thinking GP practice based in North Leeds, serving a list size of around 8300 patients. We are proud of our commitment to high-quality, patient- centred care and our strong reputation within the local community.
Our clinical team includes six GP's, supported by three practice nurses and two health care assistants and administrative staff, all working collaboratively to provide a wide range of general medical services. We also benefit from strong links with the Primary Care Network allowing us to offer extended services.
We operate from a modern, accessible premises and our surgery is fully computerised, using SystmOne.
