Job summary
CityView Primary Care Network (PCN) has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our established pharmacy team. Working across multiple practices, you will support the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient medicines optimisation services in collaboration with our Lead Clinical Pharmacist, GPs, and wider multidisciplinary teams. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and compassionate individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to improving patient care.
Main duties of the job
Support medicines reconciliation and medication reviews, including reviewing clinic letters and hospital discharge summaries
Assist with monitoring requirements and shared care protocols
Undertake patient-facing roles to promote effective medicines use
Support structured medication reviews (SMRs) and organise necessary monitoring
Provide lifestyle advice and help address public health and social care needs
Promote antimicrobial stewardship and reduce inappropriate prescribing
About us
We are looking to recruit one full-time Upperthorpe & Ecclesall Medical Centresand a part-time Pharmacy Technician to work across Walkley House & Stannington Medical Centres.
You will take day-to-day direction from the in-house pharmacists at each site, while remaining an integral part of the wider CityView PCN pharmacy team, led by the Lead Clinical Pharmacist.

- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences.
- Experience in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage resources and prioritise workload.
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
Desirable
- Experience in Primary Care.
- Understanding of current healthcare policy within PCNs.
- Ability to analyse and interpret prescribing data.
