Job summary

Brockworth Surgery are looking for two Receptionists to join our friendly Reception Team.

The positions are for 24.5 hours and 25 hours per week over four days.

We are a friendly team, who are supportive of each other and there will be opportunity to develop new skills.

Main duties of the job

Covering reception desk, answering telephone calls, booking appointments, dealing with patient queries, prescription queries, process admin duties for clinical staff, footfall requests, overseeing waiting lists, processing e-consults and many other duties. The duties are variable, depending on what is required on the day.

Candidates must have strong communication skills, be friendly, reliable and willing to learn.

The applicant must have the ability to prioritise workload.

Applicants must have the ability to work within a team, and ideally have experience of System1, AccuRx and IT skills.

Previous experience of working in General Practice is preferable however, training will be available for any candidates that show a passion for learning.

About us

Brockworth Surgery is a practice based in Gloucestershire caring for over 11,500 patients. We are a teaching practice and our team consists of 3 GP Partners, 6 salaried GPs, Nursing Team and Pharmacy Team. We also work within a multidisciplinary team of Mental health practitioners, Pharmacists, Care Co-ordinators and Social Prescribers. We have a team of secretaries, administrators and around 15 receptionists. We have a very good team ethic at the practice and all work together to ensure high quality care is given to our patients.

Job responsibilities

Covering reception desk greeting patients and visitors with a professional and friendly manner.

Manage the booking system efficiently, signposting patients to the relevant services.

Answering incoming calls, respond to queries and manage email correspondence promptly.

Assist clinicians as needed, including handling paperwork, stocking consultation rooms and daily end of day duties to ensure the rooms are meeting infection control standards.

Manage office supplies, handling incoming/outgoing post and perform general administrative duties.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.

Candidates must have strong communication skills, be friendly, reliable and willing to learn and develop their skills.In the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers.   • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
