GP Partner, Claremont Bank Surgery.

Sessions: Three & a half sessions per week (with potential to increase)

Main duties of the job

The GP Partner will provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical care and contribute to the strategic leadership and development of the practice. This role combines clinical responsibilities with partnership duties, ensuring the sustainability and success of the practice within the NHS framework.

Friendly, well-established GMS practice with 7,880 patients, rated 'Good' by CQC (Sept 2025), and part of Shrewsbury PCN. Our team includes 4 Partners, a Salaried GP, ANP, nurses, and excellent admin support. We use EMIS Web, achieve high QOF scores, and have outstanding patient feedback.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Clinical Care:

Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care to registered patients

Diagnose, manage, and treat acute and chronic conditions in line with NICE and local guidelines

Prescribe medications appropriately and review treatment plans regularly

Provide continuity of care and build long-term patient relationships

Practice Leadership & Governance:

Participate in partnership meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making

Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual obligations, and clinical governance requirements

Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk management processes

Quality & Performance:

Contribute to achieving and maintaining high QOF performance

Engage in enhanced services and local commissioning opportunities

Monitor clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction to maintain high standards

Education & Training:

Support the training and supervision of GP registrars, medical students, and nursing staff

Participate in CPD and appraisal processes to maintain professional development

Collaboration:

Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals

Engage with Shrewsbury PCN initiatives and collaborative projects

Administration:

Maintain accurate, timely clinical records using EMIS Web

Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality standards

Participate in rota duties, including on-call sessions, as agreed within the partnership
