Job summary

Southall Medical Centre has an exciting new vacancy for a salaried GP to join our existing dynamic clinical team.The successful candidate will provide excellent medical care for our patients and involve themselves in the life and development of the practice. We are a team committed to delivering the best possible care and we are looking for the right GP to enhance our team.

We are looking for a part-time salaried GP (flexible on days and session times for the right candidate).

As a salaried GP, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and interests. You will have access to a range of training and development opportunities, including leading on clinical audits and meetings within the practice.

We are a paper-light, digital-first surgery, with one of the highest eConsult usages across London, and with high QOF achievement.

Main duties of the job

  • In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
  • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards on SystmOne
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice and local CCG prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
  • In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, including QOF assessments.

About us

Southall Medical Centre is a friendly and innovative GP practice in Southall (West London), serving a diverse and dynamic population of over 9,500 patients, offering a range of services including minor surgery, long-term conditions reviews, care planning, ECGs, phlebotomy.

Through our PCN affiliation, we are able to offer more services with specialist staff including social prescribing, paramedic home visits, mental health practitioner appointments and physiotherapy appointments as well as providing access to extended hours and out of hours appointments for our patients in the evening and weekends.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join our team of 2 GP partners, salaried GP, practice nurses, HCAs, clinical pharmacists and full accompaniment of administrative and managerial staff, who all work collaboratively for the delivery of excellent primary health care services. We offer access to training and development opportunities for our staff through the North West London Training Hub to enable you to learn and progress in your career.
