Job summary
The Office Manager plays a central role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and patient focused running of the GP surgery. They oversee the day to day administrative operations, support clinical and nonclinical staff, and help maintain high standards of service for the local community in Oldham. This includes managing reception and administrative teams, coordinating workflows, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the practice in meeting NHS requirements and performance targets. The role is essential in creating a well organised, welcoming environment where patients receive timely and effective care.
Main duties of the job
Manage and support reception and admin staff, including rotas, training, and performance.
Coordinate patient-facing processes, such as appointments, repeat prescriptions, and enquiries.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
Support the practice in meeting NHS targets, QOF requirements, and contractual obligations.
Handle recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration for non-clinical staff.
Monitor workflow and improve practice efficiency, including updating procedures and systems.
Manage office supplies, equipment, and facilities, ensuring a safe and organised environment.
Assist with financial tasks, such as invoicing, petty cash, and supporting budget monitoring.

Lees Medical Practice is a GP surgery located on Athens Way, Lees, Oldham (OL4 3BP). The Jalal Practice is based in the Integrated Care Centre, New Radcliffe Street, Oldham (OL1 1NL).It provides a full range of NHS primary care services and is currently accepting new patients. The practice offers routine GP appointments, chronic disease management, screening services, and various clinics such as asthma, baby checks, and minor surgery.
