As a GP Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our practice, welcoming patients, managing appointments, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our busy surgery.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional GP Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will deliver a welcoming and efficient service both in person and over the phone. Your responsibilities will include booking and managing appointments, responding to patient enquiries, updating records, processing prescriptions, and providing general administrative support to the clinical team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a calm and compassionate approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy practice environment. Previous experience in a GP setting is essential.
About us
The practice is led by four GP Partners, supported by a Practice Business Manager and an Operations Manager. Our wider team includes a further four GPs, three Physician Associates, and six members of the nursing team, alongside approximately fifteen administrative and reception staff. We also work closely with two neighbouring practices as part of a Primary Care Network.
We value every member of our team and recognise the important contribution each individual makes to both the day-to-day running of the practice and the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a training practice for medical students and trainee nurses, we offer excellent support and training, opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge, and a friendly, supportive learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to join a well-established and growing practice.
