Job summary
We are looking for a friendly enthusiastic and motivated
Healthcare Assistant to
join a dynamic and forward-thinking Practice - Godolphin Health,
which is made up of 2 surgeries, Praze & Connor Downs. Both surgeries are
located within 10 mins from the A30, in beautiful West Cornwall. They offer
general medical services to our growing list of 8850 patients.
The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in
the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient
education while also supporting the administrative team on an as-required
basis.

Main duties of the job
To assist medical personnel in the care of practice patients
to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. The
post will also include some administrative duties.
To act as a focal point of communication between patients,
doctors, nurses and other members of the primary health care team
To maintain a safe and effective level of practice and to
bring any deficits in training to the attention of the Lead Practice Nurse so
these can be addressed.
To act in a professional manner at all times and adhere to
practice policies, protocols and guidelines.

multidisciplinary team comprising 3 full-time partners, 4 salaried GPs, 2
advanced nurse practitioners, 2 practice nurses, 2 assistant practitioners and
2 HCAs.
We are an established GP training
practice, currently hosting 3x GP registrars, of which the majority are ST-3
placements. All 3x of our GP partners are established GP trainers.
We are a member of North Kerrier
(West) PCN and we are well represented within this tight well-run PCN and
so have already embedded a variety of ARRs roles, including clinical
pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, first contact physiotherapists,
physicians associate, mental health practitioners and paramedics, into our own
primary care team.
Godolphin Health also provides the clinical
research hub for Mounts Bay Medical Ltd., a network of nine Cornish GP
practices working together to deliver primary care clinical
research. Mounts Bay Medical Ltd., is the largest primary care clinical
research provider in the UK, focusing upon pivotal phase 3+4 studies.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1.Nursing
BP monitoring including 24 hour
Urinalysis
Phlebotomy
Recording of fridge temperatures
Perform other routine laboratory tests
Prepare patients for examinations
Assist other clinical members when necessary
Weight monitoring when requested and referral to weight
management program
Record ECGs including 24 hour
Ensure clinical waste collection runs smoothly, reporting
any problems to Lead Practice Nurse or Practice Manager
Assist with Minor ops and Contraception clinics when trained
to do so
Administer IM injections for Flu and B12 under patient
specific directive
Ensure sharps bins are ready for collection
2.Administration
Participate in the administrative and professional
responsibilities of the practice team
Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments
are recorded on the patients notes & clinical computer is kept up to date
with accurate details recorded
Ensure appropriate read codes are entered accurately,
reporting any problems to the Practice Manager
Attend and participate in practice meetings as required
Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas; ordering as
directed/delegated.
