We are seeking a motivated and reliable General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join our welcoming and professional team at Parish Fields Practice Diss, Norfolk.
This is a part-time position (24 hours per week) offering an exciting opportunity to support both the clinical and administrative teams in delivering high-quality patient care.
You will report to the Nurse Manager and play a key role in improving workflow, reducing clinician workload, and enhancing patient experience. Training will be provided, and a strong commitment to learning and development is essential.

Parish Fields Practice is a busy GP practice located in Diss Health centre in the centre of the market town of Diss on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
The Practice currently has 8,200 registered patients and opens 8.30am - 6.30pm each weekday (excluding Bank Holidays), plus 1 late night clinic per week and some Saturday clinics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Record and document vital signs (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, temperature)
- Assist with phlebotomy and ECGs (training provided if not yet qualified)
- Support annual health checks and long-term condition monitoring
- Conduct basic clinical tests (e.g. urinalysis, blood glucose)
Prepare patients for consultation and act as a chaperone when required
Conduct wound care (with support from the practice nurse team)
Support in administering Injections and immunisations (Training provided if not yet qualified)
Administrative Support
Support the clinical team (GPs and Advanced Practitioners) in the delivery of patient test results
- Input and maintain high-quality data in patient records (SystmOne)
Support the Nurse Team with QOF monitoring, clinical audits, and service delivery (including infection control and immunisations)
- Assist with patient recalls and reminders for chronic disease reviews

- GCSEs in English and Maths
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in basic IT systems, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage workload and work independently under supervision
- Friendly and professional manner with patients and colleagues

- Experience working in a general practice or healthcare setting
