Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced receptionist with administrative skills,to join our friendly, forward thinking practice team, to work 24 hours a week and provide a high quality service to our 11,300 patients. You will be required to work at New Eltham.
We are a GP training Practice (Bexley & Sidcup VTS).
High QOF Achievement
IT : EMIS Web & Docman in use. Training can be arranged if not familiar with the system.
Main duties of the job
You should have an excellent telephone manner and be able to multitask alongside the team. A knowledge in basic computer skills would be of benefit.You should have previous experience of working in a reception area.

Clinical team : 3 Partners, 4 Pharmacist and have two Care Co-Ordinator's. We currently have three GP trainee's.
Supported with allied health professionals including practice nurses and a Medical Assistant.

up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance
with Practice protocols
- Maintaining
and monitoring the Practice appointments system
- Making
patients aware of the appointment booking procedure
- Processing
personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone
consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate
healthcare professional
- Processing
and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Taking
messages and passing on information accurately
- Filing
and retrieving paperwork
- Initiating
contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members
and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- re-stock consulting rooms as required
- Keeping
the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free
from obstructions and clutter
- Processing
and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures following Data Protection.
