We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Administrator with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn to help us provide a first-class reception service.
Previous experience of working in a GP Surgery and knowledge of EMIS Web would be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate who can demonstrate the following key skills:
- Excellent customer service
- IT skills
- Communication skills (both face to face and on the telephone)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workloads.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a new member of the administrative team to complement our expanding workforce, with a competitive salary offer & NHS pension.
The position available is from 30 to 37.5 hours per week, between 7.45am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Although standard hours will be agreed following interview, flexibility to vary hours and cover colleagues absences is essential.
This is a busy and varied role which requires a flexible approach, to help provide a first-class service at our friendly and forward-thinking GP Practice. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Admin experience is essential, preferably in a medical setting with working knowledge of EMIS Web and other Primary Care systems.

confidentiality.
- Deal with all general
enquiries, explain procedures, make new and follow-up appointments and take messages,
ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
- Follow practice protocols and procedures.
- Opening and sorting the mail in line with the
practice protocol.
- Scan and work flow all correspondence, reports,
results discharge letters etc promptly and accurately, using EMIS Web or DocMan
