An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our vibrant, forward-thinking practice. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the nursing team and will be responsible for participating in the delivery of high-quality patient care. We welcome applications from both newly qualified ANPs and those with wider NHS/Primary Care experience.
Main duties of the job
About the Advanced Nurse Practitioner role
A requirement for the role is to be registered with the NMC, be an independent/supplementary nurse prescriber and hold an MSC/Post graduate diploma or equivalent. Too perform as an autonomous practitioner working independently and with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat patients with a range of acute, non-acute and chronic medical conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions and complex needs.
- Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly.
- Proactively identify, diagnose, and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition (as appropriate).
- Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating both drug and non-drug-based treatment methods into a management plan.
- Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national/local protocols and within scope of practice.
- Work with patients to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments.
- Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects, and interactions.

We are a supportive, high-performing practice situated in a modern purpose-built GP building, with approximately 13000 patients. You will work alongside a large Practice Team comprising of one GP Partner, 8 salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses (including 1 Lead Practice Nurse), 2 HCAs and 1 Trainee Nurse Associate supported by a well-structured Management Team.
