Job summary

Based in the centre of Bacup, Lancashire, we are a large GP training practice with a list size of approx.15,000 patients.

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and well-motivated flexible person to join our busy Practice team who strives to ensure that our patients receive the best possible service from the Practice.

The candidate will have total overall responsibility and management of the day-to-day functionality of the organisations data quality systems, IT systems, Qof and Quality Contracts.

Main duties of the job

Duties can include but are not limited to, Qof management lead, mentorship, training + development of staff in relation to IT, Qof + data quality, to support the Caldicott Guardian + IG lead in relation to IT + data quality, to be the Practice IT + Digital lead and to support the management team in meeting Practice and CQC standards.

Flexibility will be essential for this post.

A background in Primary Care or Healthcare is desirable though not essential as training and support will be available for the right candidate.

Job responsibilities

Total overall responsibility and management of the day-to-day functionality of the organisations data quality systems, IT systems, Qof and Quality Contracts.

Duties can include but are not limited to, Qof management lead, mentorship, training + development of staff in relation to IT, Qof + data quality, to support the Caldicott Guardian + IG lead in relation to IT + data quality, to be the Practice IT + Digital lead and to support the management team in meeting Practice and CQC standards.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Data Quality Co-Ordinator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. Total overall responsibility for Qof + Quality Contract

b. Chair monthly Qof + Quality Contract Meetings providing an update on progress to the Partners + Management Team

c. To chair an annual update meeting on Qof + Quality Contract to the Practice Team

d. Train, mentor + develop the Data Quality Administrator

e. Support the Data Quality Administrator in the completion of Chronic Disease Recall system, bulk text messaging + campaigns, importing/updating of templates, word documents + clinical system

f. Induction of all new starters with Qof + data quality training

g. Continual review of staff data quality + feedback to staff with the support of the Management Team

h. Develop a Qof training package for all GP trainees + students

i. Carry out regular data quality audits

j. Support the Caldicott Guardian + IG Lead for data audit purposes

k. Support management team in the completion of the annual Data Security Protection Toolkit

l. Support the Management Team with IT + Digital Project management and implementing new systems

m. Clinical system access audits

n. To be aware of the Practices back-up and disaster recovery procedures and ensure these are followed within the Data Quality Team

o. Ensure staff adhere to practice policies regarding IT security and ensuring conformance to Information Governance working closely with the IG Lead and Caldicott Guardian

p. Build, generate and carry out searches as required by the organisation to enable reports to be produced and action plans devised

q. Support the practice manager with all elements of the online patient access software and online consultations

r. Assist the Administration Team with coding of all patient correspondence

s. Support Trainees + Students with clinical and quality improvement audits
