a Lead Nurse to join our welcoming team for 22-25 hours per week.
Located in the beautiful market town of Petworth in the heart of the south
downs. Easily commutable being only a 35-minute drive from Horsham
and 40-minute drive from Guildford.
Main duties of the job
About you
As the Lead Nurse, we anticipate your working hours to be split completing 2 clinical days with half a day admin time. You must have the ability to complete the below clinical responsibilities:

- Child immunisations
- Travel vaccinations
- Compression/Wound care
- Phlebotomy

Job summary:
To provide leadership to the practice nurse team, in collaboration with the general practitioners, and develop an effective, quality driven practice nurse service.
To promote integrated nursing practice within wider nursing team (practice nurses, district nurses and health visitors) underpinned by the development of evidence-based practice guidelines, for shared delivery of care to the whole practice population. Further, to ensure clinical effectiveness by monitoring of key quality markers relating to guidelines.

Practice leadership responsibilities:
- Practice independently in accordance with NMC code of conduct and with reference to practice guidelines, appropriately referring to GPs

- Identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs across the practice population
- Lead and develop programmes to improve health and well-being and meet the specific needs of communities, groups and individuals
- Ensure continuation of own personal and professional development, facilitated by utilisation of clinical supervision networks
- Enable the nursing team to work effectively and provide a high-quality service to patients and to work effectively with other agencies
