Job summary
The successful candidate will be a motivated, forward-thinking, flexible GP with experience in roles within
clinical and business domains and have excellent leadership qualities. We are looking for a Partner to help
us move forward with the delivery of General Practice services.
Partners are required to be positive and supportive leaders within the organisation and to take lead roles
in specified aspects of our clinical and business needs. It is expected that the successful candidate will
have a skill set that will allow them to take on such roles, this may be through particular areas of interest,
previous experience or may be based on our current business priorities. Partners are responsible for
enabling cohesive and consistent working across GPS and to support the shared vision and strategy of the
Partnership.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the agreed timetable the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety
of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and
queries, triaging, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with
queries, pathology results, managing correspondence in a timely manner, patient medical
reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance company reports), referral letters, paperwork and
correspondence and to take part in the duty rota.
Make professional autonomous decisions relating to patient care
Record clear contemporaneous IT based consultation notes
Collect data for audit purposes. Extended hours as agreed by the practice
Compiling and issuing acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines. All other duties reasonable expected of a GP working within primary care. Other responsibilities within the practice:
Teaching and training of doctors and nurses as appropriate
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines e.g.
Prescribing/confidentiality/health and safety/safeguarding/QOF. A commitment to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence based best practice. Attend training/practice meetings and events organised by the practice as appropriate. Meet all deadlines for audit and written returns to ensure that the practice meets quality
standards and receives the designated funding ( e.g. QOF).

- Vocationally trained and accredited GP with MRCGP
Experience

- A good working knowledge of national primary care

Desirable
