Job summary

Quayside Medical Practice is looking for motivated and enthusiastic GPs to join our well-respected expanding team and help us further develop our service. We are flexible with the amount of sessions you wish to work. We look after all our staff, our pay rates are very good, we encourage development, and have a friendly and supportive working environment.

Main duties of the job

Hopefully by now you understand the role of a GP, so what is different about Quayside?

By far our greatest asset is our friendly and supportive working environment. All levels of staff offer an open-door policy and are available for support.

We do not believe in Duty Doctor days, a well-run practice does not require this old-fashioned system.

Quayside has a team of pharmaceutical prescribers which means clinicians dont need to process repeat medication. This not only reduces workload but reduces risk as poor medicines management is one of the leading areas of doctor complaints.

We are a Teaching Hub and currently have PA students, FY2s and GPST doctors. If this interests you we will support you through clinical supervision training, or any other development you wish to take on

Our administrative staff are trained to reduce unnecessary GP workload.

We are situated in a purpose-built health centre.

We believe in innovation and are always striving to make our care processes as streamlined and robust as possible.

Oldham has an active First 5 network for those that are newly qualified GPs.

About us

Quayside is a well-established Practice in the Failsworth area of Oldham. We have a friendly 16,000 patient population, are a Teaching Hub for all levels of training and scored Good for all areas recently by CQC. We are situated in a purpose-built health centre, with secure staff parking, and easy to access commuter routes.

We pride ourselves not only in our patient care but also in the people we have at Quayside. Our staff are our greatest asset and we encourage development in every role. As well as the current GP Team, we have an experienced nursing team for chronic disease management, first contact MSK practitioners, a social prescribing team, a Mental Health Practitioner, pharmaceutical prescribers, and most importantly experienced managerial and admin teams.

We are proactive within Oldham South PCN, many of our team occupy lead roles within. The current NHS primary care model is PCN based, so we have formed great ongoing relationships within, putting Quayside at the centre of many future developments.
