An exciting opportunity has
arisen for a Practice Nurse to join us at Chelston Hall Surgery in Torquay.
We are looking for an
enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated individual to join us at Chelston Hall to enhance our dynamic team and help us further
develop our philosophy of integrated multi-disciplinary working. We are a friendly
practice serving the local community. Our list size is approximately 18,500
patients.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population. You will be required to work across our two sites to ensure service delivery is available to all patients.
The post holder will ideally have qualifications and experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of diabetes, or an interest and willingness to specialise in this area. The successful candidate should ideally be able to undertake cervical screening and baby immunisations alongside general nursing procedures. We are looking for a non-medical prescriber or someone who is willing to work towards this qualification. We can be flexible with hours and offer either full time or part time for the right candidate.
About us
We are a large, forward-thinking GMS training practice operating
over two sites, involved in the training of GPs, medical students, nurses,
paramedics and overseas doctors. We are proud of our dedicated multi-disciplinary approach to patient
care. We are affiliated with Plymouth University, and one Partner is an
Associate Dean responsible for GP trainees in Torbay.

evidence-based practice for patients with acute and chronic conditions, and providing management and preventative nursing interventions to all patients. You will
work collaboratively with the whole general practice team to meet the needs of
patients, supporting the delivery and procedures under the direction of the
Lead Nurse.
You will provide high quality, holistic care to patients in a safe, multi-disciplinary
environment through the provision of specialist clinics, i.e. chronic disease
management, cervical smears, child/adult immunisations and health education.
NMC requirements must be met and the individual will work within the NMC Code
of Conduct to agreed practice standards and protocols.
