An
exciting opportunity to work as a Salaried GP in Islington.
We are looking for a GP to cover a
period of maternity leave undertaking four sessions a week, with flexible working
supported. Competitive salary, 6 weeks annual leave, and CPD allowance in line with
the standard BMA model salaried GP contract. Mentoring available.
We
are a dynamic, inner city training practice, who embraces innovation. We have operated a total triage approach for six
years with morning coffee
breaks the norm and low number of home visits.
Appointment lengths are flexible dependent on patient need, a cap is
applied to ensure a safe number of patients are offered care daily.
We

Main duties of the job
- To
provide clinical care to all patients (general medical service)
- To
provide clinical administrative care for patients (results, letters,
prescription queries)
- To
adhere to the highest personal and professional standards and to put individual patient care as a priority.
- Working in partnership with all members of the health care team to support the highest standard of service delivery and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical practice
- Assess patients presenting
as acutely ill or exacerbation of long-term conditions
- Diagnose, plan, implement
and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with
an undifferentiated diagnosis
- Clinically examine and
assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective,
and plan clinical care accordingly
- Assess, diagnosis, plan,
implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for patients with complex
needs
- Prescribe and review
medication for therapeutic effectiveness, patient needs and in accordance
with evidence-based national formularies and practice protocols
- Work with patients and
their carers in order to support compliance with and adherence to
prescribed treatments
- Provide information and
advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication
regimens, side-effects and interactions
- Prioritise health problems
and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or
emergency situations and initiate effective emergency care
