We are looking to recruit TWO well organised
individuals with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our
Practice as a Medical Receptionist.
You will be working as a member of our Reception Team to deliver a
professional, complex and comprehensive reception and administrative service to our
clinical colleagues and patients.
Both posts are part-time Monday to Friday
post 1 08:00 -12:00
post 2 12:30 - 18:30
It is essential
that applicants are flexible to start earlier or finish later than their normal
working pattern and to cover colleague leave and additional projects when necessary.

Main duties of the job
The General Practice Receptionist performs a complex and rewarding job in a busy and dynamic environment. They are committed to the role, work effectively as a team.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, have excellent customer service skills, the ability to deal with patients in a professional and friendly manner, the ability to process complex information quickly and accurately in a busy working environment.
The reception team is small but effective, requiring the successful candidate to be present, reliable and to contribute positively to the success of the team.
You should have good IT skills and be keen to learn.

Marton Medical Practice is a friendly and very busy General
Practice based within Whitegate Health Centre in Blackpool.
We have a full compliment of health and administrative professionals working together to promote the health and wellbeing of our patient population and that of our team.

MAIN DUTIES OF POSTHOLDER
PROFESSIONAL
To provide and maintain a high
standard of administrative services for colleagues and patients in General
Practice offering a helpful, friendly and confidential reception service
Receive telephone calls and electronic
mail and take appropriate action as per practice protocols. Mail handling,
preparation and distribution following practice protocols.
Operate the practice appointments
system including requests for Home Visits following practice protocol. Direct
patients to appropriate Health Care Professional for advice concerning Health
Promotion / Chronic Disease Management
Organise
Ambulance / other transport following practice protocol
Know how receptionists input, locate
and retrieve data and use the practice computer on a day-to-day basis. Ensure
accuracy when processing patient requests, recording patient information,
booking appointments and taking messages following practice protocols.
Accurate message
taking and liaison with and primary health care team colleagues and patients.
Know how to
produce repeat prescriptions following the practice protocols.
Ability to
take appropriate action for pathology links following the practice protocol.
Recognise emergency situations, problems
and difficulties and ability to take prompt action following practice
protocols. Able to perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current
UK guidelines.
Confidentiality of information gained at
work must be preserved at all times. General Data Protection Regulations must
be adhered to.
EDUCATIONAL
Identify
personal development and training needs in conjunction with the manager.
Support
others with their training and development needs.
To participate in continuing education
and maintain a contemporary level of professional knowledge and skills in line
with practice requirements.
