to join us working in a busy general practice as part of our dedicated clinical
team along with friendly and supportive Clinical and administrative staff.

Main duties of the job
Job description
Duties and responsibilities include:
- New patient health checks.
- Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes.
- Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate and record findings accurately.
- Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics.
- Act as a chaperone as required.
- Undertake venepuncture.
- Administer vaccinations.
- Carry out ECGs as requested.
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation.
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
- Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance.
- Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy.
- Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.

- 6 months experience of working as a HCA
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting
- Good communications skills (written and oral)
- Time management and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm when working under pressure
- Good IT skills
- Healthcare Qualification (Level 2) or working towards gaining equivalent level
- Phlebotomy Certification
Desirable
- Knowledge of System 1
- Healthcare Qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level
