Job summary

The Clinical Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administrative tasks relating to clinical care. Working under the direct supervision of our clinical team and strictly in accordance with specific guidelines and protocols.

Main duties of the job

  • Ordering clinical supplies and maintaining sufficient stock levels.
  • Cold Chain audit management with support from the Cold Chain Lead.
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Follow infection control standards and guidance.
  • Assisting with the collection and collection of data on needs related to health and well-being.
  • Collection of monitoring data
  • Filing of information as necessary
  • Organising the upkeep, servicing and calibration of medical equipment through third parties
  • Recalling of patients via invitation to attend planned clinics (baby clinic, routine vaccinations)

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Ordering clinical supplies and maintaining sufficient stock levels

Ensure correct stock ordering for patient specific dressings and prescription coordination for planned LARC Clinic and Ring Pessary changes.

Cold Chain audit management with support from the Cold Chain Lead

Liaising with Child Health for the planning and booking of vaccinations as per the vaccine schedule, including appointments, reminders and follow up of clinic (did not attend/refusals).

Manging the rotation and storage organisation of vaccinations and medicines whilst liaising with the Practice Manager and nurses for the ordering of vaccination supplies

Managing patient waiting lists for medical investigations and procedures and booking appointments with patients directly over the telephone

Organising the upkeep, servicing and calibration of medical equipment through third parties

Management and booking of patients into planned clinics

Recalling of patients via invitation to attend planned clinics (baby clinic, routine vaccinations)

Filing of information as necessary
